Destrudo, a group that at first glance may have a Hispanic flavor, but they are absolutely our own, or come from our capital, Rome. The Destrudo arise in the winter of 2010 with their second demo, or after we find ourselves listening to Homunculus falx cerebri, a record that if we were to judge by the cover could guess that this is a psychedelic rock band, it is an art work very imaginative and very well done from all points of view. The latest work of this group begins with the song Matter in a ghost world, from the very beginning we realized at once the quality and the sound of all, in fact, the whole is very well designed and very nice, a really nice piece though it was not for the strange electronic voice that begins in the middle piece that could turn up their nose to the purists of the genre but there is to say that does not disturb the listening. Continuing with the second piece, ie Concussion, we can not say that the song you forward in the progressive death environment that is very well studied too without marking the whole, this piece gives a nod to Meshuggah and very rhythmic structures associated with Mastodon . The third song instead puts us in front of an instrument, or the song that takes its name directly from the demo, we are talking of falx cerebri, a piece of no great length that has a sax solo (!), A group of very brave choice that pays very well to be honest. The fourth and last song of the demo ends with Lord of War, a song very much in line with the first two that unexpectedly culminates the middle with an acoustic section enhanced by a very slow speech, a situation of very successful, we could say that introspection is also a very courageous choice. Finally, we can only make compliments to this group, very courageous and very humble in some parts in other (ie do not overdo it with unnecessary technicalities) the only constructive criticism if you really must be done could affect the rhythm section, or somewhere a would be more vigorous failed in the end, however, remains a very critical to be taken with pliers because you do not have anything to criticize about this brilliant band.

That advocated by Destrudo 

is a particularly experimental 

metal scene: initially conceived 

as a reality devoted to extreme 

sounds, the project has 

gradually changed skin to 

marry in this debut work 

of a design philosophy focused 

on the search for forms of 

personal expression and 

innovative rated by their very 

nature to run after anything 

but simplistic solutions 

or discounted. What stands firmly by the three passages is a perspective that brings 

together in a convincing manner and ages varied influences, channeling them into a musical 

kaleidoscope that is thevariety of fantasy and its guidelines. Exploring scenarios 

marked by countless nuances, Destrudo have built amulti-artistic world by entrusting 

the task to their own creativity to roam freely in the conquest of new goals, to be 

consolidated during the next experiment in the recording studio.

BIOGRAPHY

Project Destrudo was founded in 2007, at the beginning with a sound close to the essential Death Metal that will move into something different from the early compositions during the months, approaching to hybrid genres: the influences are oriented toward the development of a personal style, and the project changed into an experimental sound with strong Metal foundations.
During 2008, according to the evolution of the music orientations, the line-up bears some changes and the arrival of Vito, the new axeman, emphasizes the new road engaged.
The songwriting stated, but unfortunately without a permanent drummer: so before the end of 2008 the band completed a little ensemble of five long songs.
In January 2009, (when the songwriting was just ended), thanks the advice of a friend, Francesco, the drummer, was recruited and the band finally settled.
After some studio checks the band decides that was time to start the recordings, but they still missed the figure of a frontman. Two weeks before entering the studio Lorenzo solves this problem: in just few days he managed to write the lyrics and adapting them to the music and so the line-up was definitely complete.

So in one week of recordings the first demo is finally ready, but the setlist is still too short for a good live performance, and so the band soon begins writings new material. It won’t takes a long time: in some weeks new ideas and riff takes the shape of a full brand new song, which evolves the style of the precedent works. Ready to test the songs on a live stages, the band fix some dates between the fall of the 2009 and the early 2010. Unfortunately during the april 2010 the band lost the guitar bass Flavione (who was one of the founding members). The split is due to musical differences. However the bands will go on with the composition of new songs that will be released on the fall of 2010 with the new demo “Falx cerebri”, so get prepared for blasting changes and new experimentations!
